What are Zeolites?

zeolite structure

Zeolites are microporous crystalline structures that are very well defined. Most zeolites contain silicon and oxygen and many can also contain water, aluminum and/or other molecules wthin the zeolite’s porus walls. Zeolite occurs naturally and is extensively mined in many parts of the world because of the unique properties it provides.

Zeolites are used in a variety of ways… The major uses in the US are in petrochemical cracking, water softening/purification, and in the separation and removal of gases and solvents. Recently, zeolite has been used in bodily detoxification because of it’s ability to chelate heavy metals and toxins.

The framework structure contains linked cages, cavities or channels, which are of the right size to allow small molecules to enter – i.e. mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium to name a few, the pore sizes are roughly between 3 and 10 Å in diameter.

Absorption

The shape of the zeolite molecules are the basis for their molecular adsorption properties. Their ability to adsorb certain molecules, while excluding others, has really caught the attention of scientists and medical professionals.

zeozeo Sometimes it’s the size and shape of zeolite pores that control access into the zeolite cages. In other cases different types of molecules enter the zeolite, but some diffuse through the channels more quickly, leaving others stuck behind.

Zeolites can thus separate molecules based on differences of size, shape and polarity. Zeolites do not bond with calcium, potassium, sodium or many other beneficial metals.

Ion Exchange: Alkali metals such as sodium or potassium prefer to exchange out of the zeolite, being replaced by the “hard” calcium and magnesium ions when in aqueous solution. Many commercial washing powders thus contain substantial amounts of zeolite.

Commercial waste water containing heavy metals, and nuclear effluents containing radioactive isotopes can also be cleaned up using such zeolites.

Zeolite Benefits

1. 100% safe and non-toxic: Zeolite is a natural mineral that is non-toxic. All traces of the mineral
are completely eliminated out of the body within 6 to 8 hours. It’s safe for children, pets, pregnant women and nursing mothers. It is also safe to take with most medications, but you should ALWAYS check with a medical professional before taking zeolites.*

2. May help reduce cancer risk: There is clear evidence that zeolite not only removes toxins that can cause cancer (75% or more of cancers are toxin-related). This does NOT mean zeolites are a form of cancer treatment, they are simply a useful supplement to integrate into a treatment regimen.*

3. Removes heavy metals: Zeolite has the perfect molecular structure for capturing and removing heavy metals from the body without removing healthy ions and minerals. (as explained in diagram above). Many people report feeling increased energy, clarity and vitality after removing heavy metal build-up.*

4. Helps buffer body pH levels to a healthy alkalinity: Whenever zeolite is introduced to the body, it buffers the system towards slightly alkaline (pH 7.35 to 7.45), which is a perfect buffer for the optimum pH for the human body that we want. Zeolite attracts and then buffers excess protons which cause acidity and in this way can help many conditions from acid reflux to Candida and arthritis.*

5. Zeolite is very easy to take: Most detoxification products are difficult to take, many must be injected into the blood or administered such as an enema. Zeolite works at the cellular level and it can easily be ingested into the blood stream taking orally.*
