Detoxification Methods – A Comparative Analysis
July 23, 2008
Just learning the magnitude of toxicity and the connection to health challenges that we are burdened with is overwhelming. But fear not, there are solutions, provided to us by nature. The problem of toxicity, while real and overwhelming is manageable.
When it comes to detoxification, there is a wide variety of products available, with a wide variety of effects. The most dramatic including potential death, while the other end of the spectrum is ineffectiveness. Cost of detoxification can range from $50 into the tens of thousands, with little or no correlation of effectiveness. Evaluating the products can be exhaustive and confusing for the average individual.
Zus2o is a unique 3 zeolite blend – This is by far the most effective, fast acting, predictable and cost effective method to rid the body of heavy metals and toxins. Zus2o contains Clinoptilolite Zeolite, Chabazite Zeolite, and Heulandite Zeolite all unique minerals found in nature. The function in nature is to attract and bind irreversibly all toxins in a cage like structure. Zus2o is 100% effective in detoxifying the circulatory system and also safe for all ages. The cost of Zus2o is $69 for 30 individual packets.
IV chelation therapy -This therapy removes specific elements from the body, including much needed electrolytes is perhaps the oldest method. If too many electrolytes are chelated, the body may respond with a heart attack (in rare instances); therefore, this method is not preferable nor cost effective. IV chelation therapy typically costs between $100 – $300 per treatment. Up to sixty treatments are recommended over a period of months and years and results are never thorough.
Foot detox baths – Foot detox baths are popular in spas and alternative medical practices. These foot baths produce a brownish colored water from a chemical reaction. There is no scientific evidence that toxins are actually being removed from the body with this method, and the results reported are minimal; although, initially an individual often times feel rejuvenated. The price range for these treatments range from $50 – $150 each session. Twelve or more treatments are recommended.
Foot detox pads - These pads produce sweat and cause the footpads to change color. Again, there is no scientific evidence or profound testimonials and testimonials range from improved sleep to nothing at all. The price for these home treatments range from $25 – $75.
Colonics – This method is the administration of water into the colon in large volumes. Colonics cleanses the large intestine of compacted feces, which is just a small portion of the digestive tract. There is no evidence or even suggestion that colonics will cleanse the circulatory system, even though removing compacted feces does lower the body burden. There is also concern that the bowel may be perforated or stretched with the water pressure that is necessary to fill the colon through the rectum with water. Colonic treatments cost between $60 and $300 each treatment. Four to twelve treatments are typically recommended.
